VCS Denmark has set the ambitious goal to become carbon and energy neutral by 2014. As part of our effort to reach our goal – and beyond – we have now teamed up with the two international consulting companies of CH2M Hill and Ramboll.
While our short-term goal is to become energy neutral by 2014, our long-term goals reach far beyond neutrality. We want to become net energy producing – and to turn our main WWTP in Odense, Denmark, into a world class plant. Nothing less.
In order to find the very best consultants to help us create the WWTP of the future, we put the project out in international tender in November 2011. The tender was won by an international consortium, consisting of the American consulting company, and global leaders in their field, CH2M Hill, and the Danish consulting company, Ramboll.
Together CH2M Hill and Ramboll will perform an in-depth analysis of the operation of our main plant, identifying the potentials for enhancing the highly complex energy balance.
We expect to have the results of the analysis by the end of 2012.
