The IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition is one of the largest conferences in the water sector, and it takes place in Tokyo from 16th - 21st September 2018. Five of our specialists will represent VCS Denmark in a broad range of activities, both during the congress and in the exhibitions.

Together with three of the major Danish water and wastewater treatment utilities, we will - under the name "3VAND" - host an exhibition stand that is located in the Danish Pavilion. Our main objective is to share and exchange knowledge and know-how related to water and wastewater. At the exhibition stand and during the week we will also be promoting the next World Water Congress, which takes place in Copenhagen in 2020.

VCS Denmark has submitted four presentations that have been accepted by the Conference committee. The presentation topics range from climate adaptation, over UN's Global Development Goals to nitrogen removal. The culmination of the conference for VCS Denmark will be the receiving of a Project Innovation Award, for which we are extremely proud to have been nominated by IWA.

Award-winning energy optimisation at Ejby Mølle wastewater treatment plant

VCS Denmark is nominated for one of IWA's Project Innovation Awards in the category Performance Improvement and Operational Solutions. The nomination is based on our work on operational optimisation and energy production at Ejby Mølle wastewater treatment plant. The project has been carried out in close collaboration with Jacobs (CH2M).

Our project is one of three shortlisted projects, selected from among 160 nominated projects from 45 different countries. At the conference in Japan, we will find out whether we will be taking a Gold, Silver or Bronze Category Award home.
